談話会は、数学の部(60分)と議論の部(60分)の2部構成で、談話会後に歓談を目的としたお茶の時間があります。
数学の部は、非専門家を対象とした数学の講演です。
議論の部は、講演者のこれまでの数学者としての道のりなどに関するお話を聞いた後に、
少人数に分かれて、DEI（Diversity, Equity, Inclusion）などに関する意見交換をします。
議論の部が情報共有、ネットワーク構築、交流促進などにもつながることを期待しています。

大学院生を含む幅広い聴衆に向けた講演を依頼していますので，周囲の大学院生にも参加をお勧めいただけると幸いです。

This semester, we are organizing colloquiums in November, December, January
and February as follows:



November 24, Thursday, 13:00-15:00, Marie Choda (Osaka Kyoiku University)

unraveling from geometry

Title of the second talk: How come people start striving to become a
researcher? Is it unrealistic to have a dream? How to talk about such
things to our young fellows?

Each colloquium consists of two parts: the first part for mathematics (60
minutes) and the second part for discussions (60 minutes).

There is also an online tea time to enjoy free conversation after the
colloquium.

The first part of the colloquium is a mathematics talk, where the speaker
is asked to make the topic understandable also to non-experts.

In the second part, after listening to the speaker’s life stories and
research experiences, participants split into small groups and discuss
topics related to DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion）.

We hope that this part will encourage sharing useful information,
networking, and making good friends among mathematicians.



Since the talks are designed for mathematicians with a wide range of
backgrounds, including graduate students, we would be happy if you
encourage graduate students around you to attend the colloquium.

We are looking forward to seeing you at the colloquium.
