Title: Superconformal Symmetry and Differential Zero-Mode Algebras

Abstract: Vertex algebras describe local chiral symmetries through 
operator product expansions. Their zero modes form an associative 
algebra called the Zhu algebra. Using Huang’s geometric formulation, we 
study these algebras for superconformal vertex algebras. In many cases, 
they are finite W-algebras. In others, they also contain zero modes from 
free bosonic and fermionic fields. These examples show how chiral BRST 
reduction is related to finite Hamiltonian reduction after passing to 
zero modes.

We also study Zhu algebras for SUSY vertex algebras. The odd translation 
operators induce mutually anticommuting odd derivations on these 
algebras. In the semiclassical limit, they become the corresponding 
derivations on the associated C_2-Poisson superalgebras. This gives a 
simple example of how a chiral supersymmetry can become a differential 
structure after passing to zero modes.
