九州大学マス・フォア・インダストリ研究所の安本真士と申します．平素より大変お世話に
なっております．

標記の件につきまして，本学では卓越大学院プログラム
「マス・フォア・イノベーション卓越大学院」
の活動の一環として，

マス・フォア・イノベーションカフェ

を対面オンライン（Zoom）併用で定期的に開催しております．本セミナーでは，数学を専門と
する若手研究者や，必ずしも数学を専門としない聴衆に向けて，関連諸分野に現れる数学研究
や数理モデリングを専門家の方々に基礎的な部分からご紹介いただいております．

通常は本学の関係者のみを対象としておりますが，以下の2つの講演はオンラインでどなた様
でもご参加いただけます．詳細は以下の通りです．

講演者（敬称略）: Christian Müller（ウィーン工科大学，オーストリア）
題目: Applied Geometry
概要: In this talk we will relate basic properties from classical differential geometry
to modern applications. Hereby we will follow a tradition frequently applied in the
development of differential geometry, namely, studying discretized properties from
the classical smooth theory.

(2) 12月7日（火）11:00-12:00
講演者（敬称略）: Magdalena Toda（テキサス工科大学，米国）
題目: Generalized Willmore Surfaces and Applications to Biology
概要：The talk presents some generalizations of the Willmore and Helfrich energies
and their applications to protein biology, molecular biology, and biological membranes.
The talk will be accessible to a large audience of mathematicians working in geometric
analysis, mathematical biology, and differential geometry, including postdoctoral
researchers and graduate students.
