　　　　　　Brest 2002 Conference についての案内

　PPDG を通じての案内で既にご存じの方も多いかと思いますが，2002 年
7 月にフランスのブレスト市において，調和写像と極小曲面を中心テーマと
する研究集会
　"Harmonic maps, minimal surfaces and geometric flows"
が，7 月 8 日から 12 日の日程で開催されます．
　この研究集会は去る 1997 年 7 月に，同じくブレスト市において開催さ
れた研究集会
　"Harmonic morphisms, harmonic maps and related topics"
の成功をもとに，その続編をなすものとして計画されました．ちなみに，
1997 年の研究集会には 67 名の参加者があり，その内日本からの参加者
は 15 名でした．

　今回の研究集会には既に次の方たちが参加を予定されており，講演を承
諾されております：
　Tobias Colding, Bob Hardt, Peter Li, Carlo Mantegazza,
　Rafe Mazzeo, Frank Pacard, Harold Rosenberg, Rick Schoen, 
　Leon Simon, Michael Struwe

　先日，組織委員長の Paul Baird 氏より連絡があり，既に多数の方々が
2nd announcement を受け取るための登録をされているが，日本からの
登録が１件もないとの報告がありました．
　2002 年夏には北京で ICM 2002 が開催されることでもあり，国内でも
多くの研究集会が計画されております．また，7 月上旬はまだ講義期間の
大学も多いことと思いますが，今回の研究集会にも日本から多くの方々が
参加しされ，最新の研究成果をご発表いただければと願っております．

　なお，2nd announcement を受け取るために registration をする必要
がありますので，興味を持たれた方はこの研究集会のホームページ

をご覧の上，できるだけ早い機会に登録していただければ大変幸いです．
